Mark McCullough
Oklahoma
State House of Representatives State Legislator, District
30
MARK
E. McCULLOUGH has worked as a businessman, teacher, prosecutor,
and as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer. After serving other communities,
Mark returned home to raise his young family in Sapulpa, where
his parents still live today. Mark considers his greatest
roles to be as father and husband.
Mark currently
serves in the Oklahoma State House of Representatives as the
State Legislator for District 30. He
is honored to serve as the Vice Chair of the Criminal Justice
& Corrections committee. In addition, he serves on the Aerospace
& Technology, Judiciary & Public Safety, and Health
sub-committees.
Deep
Roots
Mark McCullough
knows Sapulpa and the surrounding areas well because he was
raised here and it's where he calls home. Mark's father, Mack
McCullough, is a retired longtime teacher and principal. His
mom worked in the oil industry.
A Devoted
Husband and Father
Mark met
his wife Charlotte at church. They've been married 10 years
and have two children. Everett is 4 1/2 years old, and Clayton
Mark is 2. They are active members of Mark's childhood church,
First Baptist of Sapulpa.
Strong
Values
Mark was
raised to be strong in faith and character, to work hard,
respect others, be accountable and to use his gifts and talents
to serve others. Those are the same values he is teaching
his children because these values are what bind our communities
and our nation together and make them great.
Learning
and Teaching
Mark values
education. He earned both a bachelor's degree in agriculture
and a master's degree in technology education from Oklahoma
State University. He also earned a Juris Doctorate from Tulsa
University. Mark has been on the front line in schools, teaching
classes from kindergarten to college. Mark is a strong advocate
for our teachers and students.
A Heart
for Public Service
After
college, Mark felt called to help others. He joined the U.S.
Peace Corps and was stationed in Africa. While there, Mark
taught high school and strove to give his students the tools
needed to improve their lives. As our state representative,
he will continue to serve us, to listen and be an effective
law maker.
A Tough
Prosecutor
After
law school, Mark worked as an Assistant Attorney General in
Illinois where he worked closely with state agencies including:
transportation, corrections, and the highway patrol. Mark
then worked in the Special Victims Unit of the Indianapolis
Prosecutor's Office, where he put dangerous criminals behind
bars. Mark understands first-hand the vital importance of
public safety and will fight to keep our streets safe.
A Businessman
Upon being
elected to the legislature, Mark opened up a solo law practice
concentrating in Estate Planning. Mark understands the pressures
and challenges involved in starting and running your own business,
listening and responding to client needs, and the importance
of customer service. As a business owner, Mark understands
firsthand the necessity of making Oklahoma attractive to new
business and industries and not overburdening existing ones.
A Conservative
for Us!
Mark is
a social and fiscal conservative. He believes in protecting
the unborn. He supports our Second Amendment rights, and he
will work to ensure the state honors its commitments to veterans.
